See The Difference

The Principles of beauty and attraction are complex. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, but there are some universal principals of how we as human beings perceive and interpret “beauty.” Ask someone why they think someone is attractive and often their answer is riddled with elements that can’t be well articulated.

Fundamentally, we tend to appreciate and to be attracted to symmetry. Even unsocialized babies tend to stare at a symmetric face longer than one that is relatively asymmetric. When looking at any object, each of us interpreting three things: Color, Texture and Shape. When we are judging our own appearance, or the appearance of another, our eyes are transmitting information on Color, Texture and Shape.

In cosmetic and surgical medicine, we are applying treatments to alter one, or more, of these three variables to subjectively improve the appearance of the patient, and the interpretation of the observer.

Dr. Ellison is skilled at evaluating a patient’s desires and translating that into treatment options to address the root cause of their concerns.
